30 Day Church Challenge Part 2: Wired For Worship

Recorded 1 October 2017 AM
/ Ps Marc Bredenkamp / 2017 / 30 Day Church Challenge

Acts 2:42–47 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity – 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. (NLT)

In part 2 of our ’30 Day Church Challenge’ series we see the second challenge is connected to the resultant expression of the early Church in finding purpose – PRAISE. It is a powerful word and is very connected to the prophetic, or to ‘see’. This type of praise is not just ‘praise’ as we understand it, but includes a lifestyle committed to the worship, adoration, telling, commending and the giving of glory to God as a ‘logical’, living, sacrifice.  In this sermon we see; 1) We are wired for worship, 2) God’s will is for us to gather together weekly for worship, 3) Worship is a verb.

Are you up for the challenge of weekly worship together here with us for the next three weeks?
