1 Corinthians 1:26-30, 26 Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. 30 It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption. (NIV)

In this sermon we learn about how God chooses people, He chooses people from the back of the line, not the front of the line, it is exactly contrary to how people think. We see 6 reasons that God chose David, the 8th child of Jesse, from the back of the line: 1) He is an obedient son, 2) He was faithful, he was responsible, he was courageous, 3) He remained ready, available and flexible to change, 4) He could be talked about, ridiculed and mocked without losing his cool and getting offended, 5) He always stood up for the name of God, 6) He finished what he started!
