How To Profit From Problems

Recorded 12 November 2017 AM
/ David Horton / 2017

James 1:2-6, Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. (NIV)

James is the most practical book in the New Testament. It is the “How To” manual for Christian life. From the above scripture we see 4 facts that will help us with the problem we’re going through right now: 1) Problems are inevitable, 2) Problems are unpredictable, 3) Problems are of many kinds, 4) Problems are purposeful. Then we see 3 things we can do to handle our problems: 1) Rejoice, 2) Request, 3) Relax!
